The Pawtucket Red Sox are pleased to announce that they will once again have special MTA Benefits Nights at McCoy Stadium. Any Massachusetts Teachers Association member can receive discounted tickets to ten (10) selected games throughout the 2010 season; you'll pay just $9.00 per box seat-that's $2.00 off the regular price!

The Pawtucket Red Sox and the American Lung Association have joined forces to host a one of a kind event this summer at McCoy Stadium. Join us on June 12th at noon for a leisurely, three-mile walk around Pariseau Field Track (to the east of the stadium) or race the course and stairs inside McCoy Stadium.

The Red Sox quest for another world championship is officially under way. PawSox Manager, Torey Lovullo, gives an inside look on some of the new players who could appear at McCoy Stadium this season.

The Pawtucket Red Sox will be unveiling a new and improved web site in the coming weeks. McCoy Stadium is best-known for being the home of the longest game in baseball history. But soon, the home of the Pawtucket Red Sox will have another claim to fame: A gigantic video board. On Friday, Pawtucket General Manager Lou Schwechheimer announced that the PawSox are installing a new video board in time for the 2010 season that will be among the largest in minor league baseball.

The Pawtucket Red Sox are pleased to announce that PawSox radio broadcaster Steve Hyder will receive the prestigious Rhode Island Sportscaster of the Year award at the 51st Annual National Sportscasters & Sportswriters Association (NSSA) awards dinner in Salisbury, NC on May 3, 2010. Hyder is actually the co-winner of the RI Sportscaster of the Year award along with Steve McDonald who is a member of the PawSox telecast crew on Cox Sports Television and one of the public address announcers at McCoy Stadium (in addition to his full-time role as Sports Director at WHJJ, WHJY, and B101 radio).

Over the winter, the Boston Red Sox have stressed the importance of roster depth. The Boston Red Sox have made some notable off-season signings and acquisitions. They include the following:

RHP Fernando Cabrera , 28, was a perfect 22-for-22 in save opportunities for the PawSox last season posting a 1.71
ERA in 43 RA (0-3).

The Pawtucket Red Sox are pleased to announce that members of the American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter will be at McCoy Stadium this Saturday, January 23 during the annual PawSox Hot Stove League Party to collect monetary donations for the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Red Cross workers will be stationed at the main entry tower at McCoy throughout the free Hot Stove event which will take place this Saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

The Red Sox announced the signings of seven free agents to 2010 minor league contracts. In addition, all seven players have been invited to Boston's Major League Spring Training camp as non-roster players.

Watch - Playing for Peanuts

"Playing for Peanuts" is a 10-episode TV series about minor league baseball. The series follows the South Georgia Peanuts - a team in the now-defunct South Coast League. It shows the real lives of ballplayers at the lowest level of professional baseball, from long bus rides and disgusting living conditions to injuries and bench-clearing brawls.

Featuring appearances by current and former Major Leaguers including Wally Backman, Cecil Fielder, Phil Plantier, Ron Darling and Conor Jackson.
