OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals announced today the promotions schedule for their 2010 "Fun Rules" season will include 16 post-game fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights. The season's presenting sponsor, Werner Enterprises, will sponsor nine Fireworks Fridays. The final Omaha World-Herald Fireworks Spectacular at Rosenblatt Stadium will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. The ZOOperstars! will perform during that 6:35 p.m. game vs. the Iowa Cubs, which is also presented by the City of Omaha and the Omaha Royals.

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals have become the first team to launch a new website look that will soon be standard for Minor League Baseball clubs. OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals announced today that Tanner Brickman, a fourth-grade student at Patriot Elementary School in Papillion, has been selected as the top bookmark design winner in the team's "Hit the Books" program. Brickman, who was among more than 10,000 students who submitted artwork in the team's fourth annual reading program, was honored this morning during an all-student assembly at his school.

The cable television series, which is close to wrapping up its second season and stars Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton, will air an episode entitled "The Three Strikes Job" Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. Central time on TNT.

OMAHA, NE - Kyle Fisher has resigned as Vice President/Baseball Operations for the Omaha Royals to accept the position of Senior Vice President/General Manager of the Omaha Beef. After spending the past 22 years working in professional sports, the last nine of which were with the Royals, Fisher today takes over the reigns of Omaha's professional indoor football team.

OMAHA, NE - The Kansas City Royals Caravan stops in Omaha on Monday, January 18th, when a group of players headlined by former Nebraska star Alex Gordon will appear at a free, family event. It will be held at the Holiday Inn Omaha Convention Center at 72nd & Grover Streets from 10 a.m.-noon. Gordon, who will be part of the Omaha leg of the caravan for a fifth consecutive year, will be joined by teammate Willie Bloomquist, former Royals great Willie Wilson and broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre. The caravan is presented by Fox Sports Kansas City.

"Playing for Peanuts" is a 10-episode TV series about minor league baseball. The series follows the South Georgia Peanuts - a team in the now-defunct South Coast League. It shows the real lives of ballplayers at the lowest level of professional baseball, from long bus rides and disgusting living conditions to injuries and bench-clearing brawls.
